Hollow Cocoon is a first-person horror adventure game set in 1980s Japan. You play as Minato Jinba, a college student who returns to his mother’s hometown after learning his grandmother is critically ill. The Story

Minato Jinba, a university student, lives in a boarding house in the city, far from his parents. One night, he receives distressing news from his father, Eiji: his maternal grandmother, Kinu Miyama, is in critical condition.

Minato journeys to Ichinose, a secluded village deep in the mountains, where his mother was born. He hasn't seen his grandmother in over a decade and harbors deep resentment towards her, particularly because she refused to attend her own daughter’s funeral, intensifying Minato’s disdain.

As the bus rumbles down the country road, Minato recalls the only conversation he ever had with his grandmother:

“– The thing with silkworms, you know; even if they could leave their cocoons, they have no mouths to eat, and their wings do not fly. They simply lay their eggs and perish. People are the reason they suffer this fate.”

As twilight sets in and the mountains cast ominous shadows, Minato arrives at his grandmother’s house. There, he finds himself entangled in a terrifying situation with a shocking truth waiting to be unveiled.
